Our rates for virtual, in-person, and walk-and-talk therapy sessions start at $ 165.00 for individual sessions, and $185.00 for couples therapy.

We have found e-transfer to be easiest, however, we do accept credit card payments, as well.

We offer direct billing to most major insurance providers. If your provider does not allow direct billing, or if you are paying out-of-pocket, we will issue a receipt you can submit for insurance reimbursement. Therapy services with a registered social worker are also considered an eligible medical expense by the CRA and can be claimed on your annual income taxes.

There are many different approaches to therapy, - there’s no shortage of acronyms out there for these therapies, and it can be confusing! We use a variety of approaches tailored to the specific needs of our clients, but all have been proven (in research and in our professional experience) to work well for specific issues. Some of the approaches we use with our clients include Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). More important than the approaches we use, we believe our clients bring a lot of expertise to therapy (after all, you’re the expect in YOU!). Your expertise, combined with our clinical knowledge allow us to work together to tailor a treatment plan that works for you

Your appointment is specifically reserved for you. As such, with the exception of personal emergencies, we require 48 hours’ notice to cancel or re-schedule an appointment, or the full session fee will be charged. Please note that most insurance companies do not reimburse for missed sessions.

This is a tough question, because our clients come to see us for different reasons. At Refined Wellness … we think we offer some pretty great services.  But … we want more for you than to be in therapy forever.  Some clients may only feel the need for 4-6 sessions.  Other times, clients have a lot of complex issues and, in those cases, therapy can go on for a more extended period of time.  Rest assured that you are not “locked in” to a certain number of sessions – the choice of how long you stay in therapy will always remain with you!
